Vol. 8 Ch. 25

Shounen shenanigans were strong this chapter.

@Boomburst they said "if used right," the if is important and I'm not sure they actually know how to do it yet. That's why they fell back to report to their boss instead of just trying to do anything haphazardly while Shin was already in a "fuck you and anyone near you," state of mind.

These people are getting it wrong... Cecily is not Shin's weak spot... it's his berserk button. These guys are threatening to mash the button down. Yeah... I never had sympathy for the devils, but now they have lost all ounce of my respect. Guess getting demonized decreases the wisdom score.

If i was shin i would have gone like: you little shits call yourselves demons?? Let me show you what a real demon is!!!??? and attack them with the intent to kill, make them shit and piss their pants while mercilessly killing in very horrible and gory ways every one of them one by one and just leave one half alive and tell him: now you little piece of living shit trash go crawl back while crying to your master an tell him ALL of what you experienced and tell him that that is what a real demon is like and not the punny little fake ass demon he calls him self to be.??????
Or maybe I would go like: makes Naruto hand signs"kuchiyose no jutsu!!!" And summon my little friend Sachiko from corpse party and tell her: Sacchan, these nice people say they want to play with you??, why don't you go have fun with them???(??) and enjoy all the bloodbath.

If they know the whole empire is demonized why not go to the strong hold and do the magic version of nukes?
I’m pretty certain Shin has something similarity distructive what with his solar ray spell from an earlier chapter.

Actually, demonizing Shin makes more sense as their main plan, though they still need to involve Cecily with that plan. Remember how Strom turned into one? Yup, they'll either defile her, kill her, or both, right in front of him by manipulating corrupt nobles or something to do it for them.

Now imagine the OP protagonist becoming the bad guy of the story. No one can do didly squat to stop him.

So I went and read the raws, and...

You'd think the Japanese author could just like, include the English spelling of the names alongside the Katakana, since he's trying to go for a European type name. And yes obviously Walford is more correct than Warford -- but for some reason we had it spelled BOTH ways in the same chapter. That's pretty low quality work from the translator/proofreaders.

When you realize that the MC is the eviler of them all:
Evil enemies stop before killing the mc's party.
MC just straight up disintegrate some demon mob.

@sharkman & @conscript117 : The things I understood is that :

- The demon king just want to chill in his castle
- But the second in command and other lesser demon doesn't want that. For the second, it's because he wants to prove the demon's supremacy and want to eliminate any threats. For the lesser demons it's because of vengeance, need to destroy things or just proving they are the best of the best.
- So the second in command try to manipulate the lesser demon into kidnapping the girl to make MC angry and make him attack the demon king.
- Upon the attack, the demon king will kill MC and with any luck, either the demon king will decide to conquer the world or the humans will surrender if they had started a war on the demons.

So it's a win/win situation for the second in command: worst case scenario the lesser demons dies, best case scenario demon king doesn't have any threats and rules the worlds. (in the second in command head the demon king can't possibly lose)

The only true dumb guys are the henchmen but I suppose they were dumb from the beginning and with the demonic transformation they have an even harder time to think. Second in command choose them because of that.

But yeah, I'd love the author to explain the plot with more clarification.

These demons know that Shin is capable of destroying a country without much thinking... not even that schlong guy can stop Shin and yet they're still thinking which one will prevail ?! demons vs humans? more like demons vs natural disaster.

For anyone wondering, the author's intention when using these european names is to get a european feel to them, so when translating, they should be written as they would in any european country where they might originate from (Walford comes from english speaking countries, so it should be used like that instead of warford, even if the katakana is ambiguous).

Regarding the "lack of ruthlessness" in the jp novels compared to CH or KR ones, it's simply because the target demographic is different, it's like comparing Detective Conan with CSI, one's target demographic is aimed at early teens up to young adults and maybe beyond that, while CSI is aimed at young adults and beyond, though there are other factors too, not just age, but gender, social status, etc. Chinese and Korean novels seem more dark because the ones that get uploaded are those for a different demographic than Japan's ones like Kenja no Mago, it might be even possible that there are no publishers editing for those targets too.

As for what these demons are planning, Shin's powers are far too great, and they don't yet understand what they are, in fact, Shin's ability to imbue extremely complex effects onto items is on the level of a god, so he could very well dispell demonization, or even dispell the adverse effects of demonization, such as skin and eye color, as well as the madness enhancement, he's just having fun, though with what has happened now, maybe he'll react in some interesting way. And I don't think they want to demonize him, they likely just want to mess with him and somehow get him out of the picture so they can do some stuff to "mankind" (they're just buffed humans, I still don't get the whole "who will survive, us demons or the humans", it makes no sense...). Demonization, as I said, is unlikely, Walford has too much magic power, so if he hasn't demonized yet it's because he either can't, or he already is but without the adverse effects.

@Starbuck

Nothing to do with Spanish or English. Katakana has no difference between Walford and Warford. Also I'm pretty sure the translations are from Japanese, since the raws I get for chapters I proofread (not this one, but for example 24) are in Japanese.

i'm starting to think what they want to achieve is not to weaken Shin but to mess with his magic control and make him demonize just like Strom did to instigate discord in his ranks
weakening him with kidnapping Cecily, demonizing her or killing her in front of him just doesn't make sense
or maybe i'm just thinking too much in avoiding the usual kidnapping cliches

what the heck with people, its getting fun yet people feel gotten annoyed

Ppl say Chinese novels are cliche but jp ones in my opinion lack ruthlessness in MCs so problems seem like their being handled by 5 year olds...

he could just have obliterated their country really

I cant wait for next chapter, Let shin acquired new Title "DEMON HUNTER"

I don't understand why they are messing with shin, when their master told them not to concern about shin at all, because he didn't wanted to confront him, and they are going out of their way, ignoring their master order and poking the tiger face.
They'll only get massacred, slaughtered, murdered, obliterated, destroyed, not even a speck of dust will remain of them.
This is so obvious.
