It's quite reminiscent of Kaji yelling at Kyara to get lost during the Hell Bull arc. Feels like a stupid move given the situation. It might not be if the phone doesn't matter for Hachina to contact Gakuto, and so this is basically a mindgame to mess with Lucy, but I'd imagine there are better ways to get to this point.

Gakuto is like a, a justice Kaji or something. This kind of brave bullshit is the kind he would pull out.

If anyone has doubts, go back to the Hell Bull arc, to see his reactions when he is in trouble. It is nothing like this.

@Ominous I think Kaji figured the polygraph trick out last chapter possibly, and is being annoying just to get a reaction from Yokoi, since last chapter the Captain missed after Yokoi and him started screaming for him to miss. At that point Kaji made a face like he understood something, and this chapter he's back to being annoying, getting a reaction out of Yokoi, and right after that the Captain missed, so I think he's onto it. I think the theory is pretty much 100% confirmed at this point as well. Really curious to see what will happen now that Hachina has no way to communicate with Gakuto (or does he?).

Gakuto is such a great guy (but he's still an everyman).
